Prior to Oregon Tech:
Moates earned Skyline first team all-conference honors for the Hornets as a junior and senior, leading Henley High School to both the 2013 and 20114 4A state tournament and a runner-up finish in 2014 .  Moates was a two-time First Team All-State recipient in both 2013 and 2014.
