Prior to Oregon Tech
The 6-2 Hilo High School point guard led the State in scoring, while garnering First Team All-State accolades and Division I Player of the Year honors in the Big Island Interscholastic Federation. Carvalho averaged 28.9 points per game and was his team’s top outside shooter, hitting 43.5% from the floor and 40.1% of his shots from outside the arc. He also led his team in rebounds (8.8) and assists (3.1) per contest. Jalen is the son of Dave and Sandy Carvalho and plans to major in psychology at Oregon Tech.
